رفتار سیستم تغییرات مقادیر متغیرهای سیستم در طی زمان را نشان می‌دهد و با استفاده از «نمودارهای رفتار در طول زمان» نشان داده می‌شود.

«حلقه بازخوردی بسته» ساختار اصلی سازنده سیستم است و نشان می‌دهد که چگونه عملکرد سیستم بر شکل گیری رفتار آینده سیستم اثر می‌گذارد.

تفکر سیستمی یک پارادایم فکری است که جهان را به صورت سیستم‌هایی به هم پیوسته و در هم تنیده می‌بیند و به شناخت و تصمیم‌گیری بهتر در مورد مسایلی که با آنها مواجه هستیم، کمک می‌کند.
