«پویایی شناسی سیستمها» یا «دینامیک سیستمها» یکی از مکتبهای تفکر سیستمی است که شبیهسازی رفتار سیستمهای اقتصادی و اجتماعی را به کمک کامپیوتر امکان پذیر کرده است.
«نظریه ساختمان سیستم» نقش مهمی در فهم سیستمها دارد و مشخص میکند که چگونه میتوانیم به ساختار سیستمها پی ببریم و آنها را مدل کنیم.
فکر سیستمی بر روابط علت و معلولی و اینکه رفتار سیستم واقعا چگونه شکل می گیرد تمرکز دارد.
فکر غیر سیستمی به دنبال فهرست کردن عوامل موثر بر رفتار سیستم است.
